About us

For a long time, the southern shore of Wörthersee was only accessible by boat or via Keutschach Valley, until Emperor Franz Josef finally had today's road along the south shore constructed. And whereas Velden and other towns on the north shore already boasted a railway connection back in the 19th century, tourism barely even existed on the south shore.

What was an disadvantage back then, has become an advantage today, since the idyllic south shore till offers undeveloped and ecologically intact nature the moment you step outside of the small villages. For example, just a short hike from the hotel will get you to the Spintikteiche nature sanctuary, while forest paths will lead you uphill to the small St.Anna Chapel as well as to the Pyramidenkogel lookover tower.

Hotel Sille itself is presumed to have been a village inn for many years, before being expanded in the course of the 19th century, with the great-grandfather of the current owners ultimately establishing the Seehotel.

4 generations of the Botzenhart-Sille family have dedicated themselves to offering their guests much more than "just" the magnificient setting and the comfortable rooms.
